Leicester are working on a deal to sign winger Wilfried Zaha from Galatasaray on a season-long loan.

Zaha missed Galatasaray’s game against Hatayspor on Friday as he is in negotiations regarding a Premier League return. Talks are ongoing.

The Ivory Coast international, who joined Galatasaray in the summer of 2023 as a free agent after his contract with Crystal Palace expired, has fallen down the pecking order at the Turkish club and is interested in returning to the English top-flight.

If the deal is completed, the 31-year-old will become Leicester’s fifth signing off the summer following the arrivals of Bobby De Cordova Reid, Michael Golding, Caleb Okoli, and Abdul Fatawu.

Zaha scored ten goals and provided five assists in 42 games in his debut season with Galatasaray, helping them win the Turkish SuperLig.

Crystal Palace had looked into the possibility of re-signing Zaha and held talks with the Turkish club. Were Palace to succeed in their pursuit of Zaha, it would be the third time they have signed the forward.

Across two spells with the London club, Zaha, who came through Palace’s youth academy, scored 90 goals and provided 62 assists in 458 games.

Crystal Palace conclude their pre-season against French side Nantes on Sunday before beginning their Premier League season against Brentford on August 18.

Leicester will also conclude their pre-season preparations against French opposition. They face Lens on Saturday before their Premier League season begins against Tottenham Hotspur on August 19.
