The Women’s Super League (WSL) fixtures for the 2024-25 season have been released, with Arsenal hosting Manchester City on the opening weekend.

The fixture will see City’s summer signing Vivianne Miedema return to her former club Arsenal in her first WSL match with her new side.

Sonia Bompastor’s Chelsea reign begins with the visit of Aston Villa, who will also have a new face in the dugout after Robert de Pauw was appointed Carla Ward’s successor.

Also on the opening weekend, Manchester United host West Ham United, newly-promoted Crystal Palace travel to beaten FA Cup finalists Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool host Leicester City and new Brighton head coach Dario Vidosic’s first WSL game in charge will be the visit of Everton.

The first round of matches for the 2024-25 season take place across the weekend of September 21-22, with dates and times of fixtures to be confirmed in due course.

Arsenal host Manchester United on the final day of the season, which is scheduled for the weekend of May 10-11. The fixture ends a run of three games for United that also includes the visits of Man City and Chelsea.

Chelsea conclude their campaign at home to Liverpool — a side they have been beaten by twice in the last two seasons — and Man City host Crystal Palace.

The first Manchester derby of the 2024-25 season is scheduled for gameweek 11, which is set to take place on January 18-19, with Manchester City the home team. The reverse fixture takes place on the penultimate weekend of the season on May 3-4.

The second Merseyside derby of the season is also scheduled for May 3-4, after Everton have hosted the first on the weekend of November 16-17

Arsenal will host Chelsea for the first time during the 2024-25 campaign in gameweek four, scheduled for October 12-13, before the reverse fixture on the weekend of January 25-26.

Chelsea beat Man City to the WSL title on goal difference last season to be crowned champions of England for a fifth successive season. The pair meet for the first time next season on the weekend of November 16-17, with Chelsea the home side, before the reverse fixture in Manchester on March 22-23.
