Daniel Levy, the chairman of Tottenham Hotspur, has revealed that the club has a buy-back clause as part of the sale agreement with Bayern Munich for Harry Kane.

Kane departed from Spurs at the end of the British transfer window, after scoring 213 goals in 317 Premier League games for the London club.

The transfer for 100 million euros (107m dollars) saw their star forward swap England for Germany, as he seeks to pursue the silverware that has evaded him during his club and international careers.

But, Levy revealed to a fans forum that, in the fine print of the exit deal the clubs agreed, there is a buy-back clause meaning that Kane could pull on the lilywhite of Spurs once again.

The chairman did not, however, offer many more details about this clause.

Harry Kane’s transfer to Bayern Munich

The 30-year-old was closing in on Alan Shearer‘s Premier League record of 260 goals and faced a tough choice between departing for essentially guaranteed silverware with Bayern Munich, who have won their league for the past 10 seasons, or remaining at Spurs who have always come up short on the big stage.

In the end, he swapped London for Bavaria and has scored four Bundesliga goals in five appearances.

Harry Kane: A life at Tottenham

Harry Kane began his career at London-based club Ridgeway Rovers. After stints with Arsenal and Watford‘s academies, he joined Tottenham in 2004.

There, he progressed through all the youth ranks to the U18s and signed his first professional contract in July 2010.

Since 2011, he played 435 official matches with Spurs, in which he scored 280 goals, making him the club’s top scorer.

Kane is also the second player with the most goals in Premier League history after Alan Shearer.

Harry Kane’s farewell

On the day his move to Bayern Munich was closed, Kane left a nice message for his former club.

“Thank you to the Tottenham fans, it’s sad to say goodbye,” he stated.

“From the moment I’ve been playing I’ve been one of your own, and I’ve given everything that I possibly could to make you proud and give you as many special moments and memories to hopefully last forever.”

Perhaps there will be more Kane and Tottenham memories in the future, if this buy-back clause is ever activated.
