Chelsea have announced the Kepa Arrizabalaga has joined Real Madrid on loan for the season.
The Spaniard was the Blues first-choice goalkeeper last season, with Edouard Mendy featuring predominantly on the bench.
Kepa’s future at Chelsea was far from clear this summer given how poorly the club performed last season.
However, he is now set to star in between the sticks for Madrid for the campaign, five years after joining the Blues.
It was announced last week that long-term no.1 Thibaut Courtois is set to be out of action for some time due to a ruptured ACL.
Kepa has therefore been brought in as cover by Madrid whilst the Belgian recovers, with a return date not yet known.

He was also linked with a move to Bayern Munich in a switch that would see him reunite with Thomas Tuchel.
However, the Santiago Bernabeu now awaits him as he spends a year away from Stamford Bridge.
Kepa has made 163 appearances for Chelsea since his arrival from Athletic Bilbao for a record fee of £71.6million in 2018.
The Blues themselves have signed a new goalkeeper as they recently welcomed the arrival of Robert Sanchez from Brighton.
Sanchez, who has also featured for the Spain national team, made his Chelsea debut in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool on Sunday.
Another goalkeeper could be set to make their way to Chelsea this summer as they continue to spend heavily in the market yet again.
Moises Caicedo will join from Brighton in a British record £115million deal, with Romeo Lavia also on their radar.
However, Liverpool have agreed a £60million deal with Southampton, and the 19-year-old must now decide which club he wants to join.
