Wrexham forward Paul Mullin scored his 100th goal for the club with his strike against Colchester United on Saturday.

Mullin has been instrumental to Wrexham’s rise in recent years, scoring 47 goals in all competitions last season as they won the National League title and earned promotion to League Two for the first time in 15 years.

As the side now competes for back-to-back promotions, Mullin has been in strong form again with the milestone strike his 19 league goal this campaign.

He signed with the club in July 2021 from Cambridge United and has twice won Wrexham’s player of the year award, as well as the FA Cup Golden Ball award in the 2022-23 season as the competition’s top goal scorer.

Wrexham, owned by celebrity duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, went into the game against Colchester in third place, four points behind league leaders Stockport County.

The top three sides will earn automatic promotion to League One — two leagues below the Premier League — while the next four teams will enter the playoffs.

Mullins’ goal moves him to equal 9th in the club’s all-time top scorer list alongside Albert Kinsey, but still some way behind record holder Tommy Badford, who has 213.
