Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel has called out defender Kim Min-Jae for his part in conceding two goals to Real Madrid in the 2-2 draw in their Champions League semifinal first leg on Tuesday.

Kim gave away a second half penalty, which Vinícius Júnior scored to equalise for Madrid, while Tuchel also pointed out his mistake that led to Bayern conceding the opening goal of the match.

“He was too overly ambitious twice. He made the first move too early against Vinícius in the first goal and got caught by Toni Kroos‘ pass,” Tuchel said.

“He speculated and was too aggressive. In the second goal, unfortunately it was another mistake. We were five against two, we had the numbers. There was no need to defend that aggressively against Rodrygo.

“The moment Eric [Dier] was about to help, he [Kim] brought him [Rodrygo] down. Unfortunately with their quality, these mistakes get punished. But well, it happens. We have to move on.”

Kim moved to Bayern in the summer after he helped Napoli win Serie A last season. However, he has struggled for form since arriving in the Bundesliga and has at times been left on the bench this year after Eric Dier‘s arrival in January.

Meanwhile, Harry Kane has said he paid no notice to England teammate Jude Bellingham, who tried to put him off as he stepped up to take a penalty for Bayern with the game at 1-1.

“To be honest I don’t know what he was saying. He was mumbling something. Once I’m in that moment, I’m in my zone, trying to block everything out,” Kane told TNT. “I’m sure he was saying something to try to put me off.”

Bayern and Madrid will meet at the Bernabéu on May 8 in the second leg.
