Wolverhampton Wanderers are working to find an agreement with Ajax to sign Carlos Forbs.
The Premier League club submitted a fresh offer to their Eredividie counterparts on Friday morning as they continue efforts to secure a deal for the 20-year-old Portugal youth international.
Wolves have an extremely limited budget, making this a difficult move to complete, although personal terms are not expected to be an issue.
Forbs, a winger, spent eight years in Manchester City’s youth system before joining Ajax in 2023.
The Portuguese winger did not make a senior appearance for City and has scored four goals in 38 appearances for Ajax.
Forbs, who has been capped up to under-21 level by Portugal, could become the fifth summer signing at Molineux.
Gary O’Neil’s side have already completed the signings of Rodrigo Gomes, Pedro Lima, Tommy Doyle and Jorgen Strand Larsen, the latter of whom has joined on a loan deal from Celta Vigo.
