Liverpool Women make a signing from the NWSL
Earlier today, Liverpool announced the signing of 23-year-old Japan international Fuka Nagano.
On Nagano’s arrival, manager Matt Beard told Liverpoolfc.com: « We’re delighted to bring Fuka to Liverpool. She’s a versatile midfield player who can play in the holding role or as an attacking option.
« She’s excellent on the ball, creative and tactically astute, while her international experience with Japan speaks for itself.
« In club football, she’s played in a highly tactical league in Japan but also in America, which is an athletic and transitional league – and the WSL is probably midway between the two. »

ivan Toney will start against Bournemouth – Thomas Frank
Brentford manager Thomas Frank has confirmed that Ivan Toney will start in Brentford’s match against Bournemouth tomorrow after recovering from a knee injury.
The 26-year-old has not featured for the west London club since his side’s 2-0 victory over West Ham United, but Frank says he will be back in action for the game on Saturday.
He said: “Ivan is fit and available and he will start tomorrow. (Shandon) Baptiste is in a good place, trained fully for a week and hopefully can be soon ready for selection. He just needs a few minutes from a friendly or B Team game.
“(Aaron) Hickey also trained fully this week and he will play tonight with the B team. Good for him he is progressing. Onyeka is still a few weeks away from being involved in the squad.”
Pressed on whether there would be a contingency plan for Toney with the ongoing FA investigation, he added: “Of course we know the situation with Ivan, we don’t know what will be the final decision. We are always looking into how we make the squad stronger. I think we did very good business with getting Kevin Schade in early.”
