Trabzonspor have been ordered to play six matches behind closed doors by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) as a result of the violence that broke out after their Super Lig loss to Fenerbahce last month.
An investigation was launched by Turkish authorities after Trabzonspor fans entered the pitch and sparked a brawl following their side’s 3-2 defeat.
Fans stormed onto the field at Papara Park, Trabzon, attacking both Fenerbahce players and security personnel. 13 people have since been arrested.
Fenerbahce players Jayden Oosterwolde and Irfan Can Egribayat received one-game bans for engaging in altercations with opposing supporters. Nigerian winger Bright Osayi-Samuel, who tackled one of the pitch invaders, did not face any sanctions.
Trabzonspor’s coach Egemen Korkmaz has been banned from the dressing room and dugout for one match due to his involvement in a scuffle with an opposing player.
Trabzonspor have also been fined 3million Turkish lira (£75,000).
These penalties were determined during a meeting of the TFF’s disciplinary board.

On Tuesday, members of Fenerbahce voted against a proposal to withdraw from the Turkish Super Lig in response to the violence.
Former Manchester United midfielder Fred netted twice to propel Fenerbahce to an early 2-0 advantage. However, in the second half, Enis Bardhi and Trezeguet staged a remarkable comeback for the hosts, levelling the score.
In the 87th minute, Fenerbahce clinched a dramatic victory with a goal from former Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi. However, the celebrations of the away team were marred by Trabzonspor supporters breaching security and storming the pitch after the final whistle.
Video footage circulating on social media depicted clashes between these supporters, Fenerbahce players — including Batshuayi and former QPR defender Osayi-Samuel — and stadium security staff.
Throughout the match, Fenerbahce players were targeted by objects thrown from the crowd, prompting Trabzonspor players to intervene and appeal to the fans to cease their actions. Ismail Kartal, Fenerbahce’s head coach, revealed that he and his staff were also struck by objects, resulting in injuries such as a swollen head for Kartal, swollen jaws and burst lips for some of his staff.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino denounced the incident as “absolutely unacceptable”. The TFF, meanwhile, previously said in a statement that those responsible will face the “necessary penal sanctions”.
