German Football Federation (DFB) president Bernd Neuendorf says they are in discussions with national team coach Julian Nagelsmann over a potential contract extension.
Nagelsmann, the former Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig head coach, had been appointed as Germany’s national team manager last September on a contract that would end after this year’s European Championship.
Neuendorf spoke about Nagelsmann’s future following Germany’s impressive 2-0 win against France on Saturday.
He said to German outlet ZDF: “It would be absolutely desirable from our side (to extend Nagelsmann’s contract).
“We’re a good team, we get on well, we’re in intensive dialogue.”

Nagelsmann has previously suggested that he would like his future clarified before the Euros in Germany this summer.
“If I have a contract offer before the European Championship that I am happy with and where I say I feel comfortable and where I see myself, then there is a high probability that I will sign it before the European Championship,” he said earlier this month.
The 36-year-old has been linked with a number of jobs, including at Liverpool and Manchester United.
Florian Wirtz, meanwhile, netted his nation’s quickest international goal after just seven seconds, followed by an early second-half strike from Kai Havertz to secure a victory for Germany against Didier Deschamps’ France in Lyon.
