Bayern Munich defender Josip Stansic will be unavailable for “several weeks” after he injured the collateral ligament in his right knee.
The 24-year-old sustained the injury during a training session on Monday. An examination by the club’s medical department confirmed the diagnosis.
Stanisic played the entirety of Bayern’s 4-0 victory over German second-division side Ulm in the DFB Pokal last Friday.

The Croatia international spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen, where he helped the club win the Bundesliga and the German Cup.
He also played in two of Croatia’s three group-stage games at the European Championship in Germany earlier this summer.
Bayern begin their Bundesliga campaign against Wolfsburg on Sunday.
