Victor Osimhen has signed a contract extension at Napoli to keep him at the club until 2026.
The 24-year-old striker’s deal had been set to expire in 2025.
Osimhen won the Serie A Golden Boot last season, scoring 26 goals in 32 appearances as Napoli were crowned champions of Italy for the first time in 33 years. His performances saw him named 2023 African Player of the Year this month.
There had been discussions over Osimhen further extending his stay at the club after Napoli’s title triumph, and interest from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal was rebuffed last summer.

However, doubt was cast over the Nigerian international’s Napoli future in September after his agent threatened to sue the club over a “mocking” social media post.
Osimhen’s representative, Roberto Calenda, criticised the club for posting a TikTok which appeared to poke fun at him after he missed a penalty in their goalless draw with Bologna. The striker had cut a frustrated figure when he was replaced in the latter stages of the fixture.
However, he has gone on to commit his future to the club, with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis posting pictures of the pair on social media signing the paperwork.
Osimhen missed six matches in October and November due to a hamstring injury sustained on international duty, but returned to action at the end of last month, and has registered eight goals and three assists in 17 appearances in all competitions this season.
Napoli sit sixth in Serie A and progressed to the Champions League knockout stages as Group C runners up behind Real Madrid.
They return to action on Saturday with a trip to Roma.
