Juventus have agreed to mutually terminate the contract of goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

The 34-year-old Poland international’s contract at the Turin club had been due to expire in June 2025 but both parties agreed to move on a year early.

Juventus have signed goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio on a season-long loan deal from Monza with an obligation to buy the 27-year-old on a permanent basis at the end of the season.

The Italian club were in discussions to sell Szczesny to Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr earlier this summer but negotiations broke down over a transfer fee.

Szczesny made 252 first-team appearances for Juventus since joining from Arsenal in 2017 and has helped the club to eight trophies in that time including three Serie A titles.

The goalkeeper, who has 84 caps for his country, played in two of Poland’s three games at Euro 2024.

Szczesny is the 10th first-team squad player to leave Juventus this summer, with the likes of Adrien Rabiot, Alex Sandro, Moise Kean, Matias Soule, Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barrenechea among the exits.

Juventus have made four signings including Di Gregorio, with midfielders Douglas Luiz and Khephren Thuram alongside left-back Juan Cabal joining Thiago Motta’s squad.
