Ivan Juric has been sacked as head coach of Roma after defeat to Bologna on Sunday.

Juric departs after less than two months in charge with Roma 12th in the table having won just three of their opening 12 games in Serie A.

The 3-2 loss to Bologna at the Stadio Olimpico was the club’s fifth defeat of the campaign and their third straight game without a win in all competitions.

A club statement confirming Juric’s dismissal said: “We would like to thank Ivan Juric for his hard work over the past few weeks.

“He handled a difficult environment with the utmost professionalism, and for that we are grateful. We wish him all the best for his future.”

The club added they hope to name Juric’s replacement in “the coming days”.

The 49-year-old Croatian was appointed in September following the sacking of former player Daniele De Rossi.

Juric went unbeaten in his first three games in charge but a surprise defeat in the Europa League to Swedish side Elfsborg led to a run of three games without a win in Serie A, including a 5-1 loss to Fiorentina.

Roma’s next game after the upcoming international break is a trip to league leaders Napoli on November 24.
