Diogo Jota missed training as a precaution as Liverpool continue their preparations for Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Bologna at Anfield.
The Portugal international sat out Tuesday’s session at Kirkby after taking a heavy blow to his foot in Saturday’s 2-1 win over his former club Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Jota, 27, will continue to be assessed ahead of the visit of the Serie A outfit as Liverpool look to build on their 3-1 win over AC Milan in their Champions League opener.
Fellow attacker Federico Chiesa was another absentee from Tuesday’s session, but Darwin Nunez and Andy Robertson were both involved. Nunez missed the victory at Molineux due to illness but is back in contention to face Bologna. Robertson limped off after a heavy challenge late on but the Scotland left-back is also fit and available.
Wednesday will be the first time the clubs have met with Bologna set to be Liverpool’s 137th different European opponent.
A victory will see Arne Slot become the first Liverpool manager in history to preside over eight wins in first nine matches in charge.
