Faiq Bolkiah, the world’s richest footballer with more than 18.698 billion euros of wealth as the nephew of the Sultan of Brunei, has been hospitalised after suffering a leg injury during a Thai Premier League match.

The millionaire nephew of the Sultan of Brunei, who played in Europe for Maritimo (Portugal),Leicester City (England), Southampton (England) and Chelsea (England), is currently playing for Thai club Ratchaburi.

Bolkiah, 25, was injured after coming on as a half-time substitute in Ratchaburi‘s match against Police Tero at Boonyachinda Stadium.

Ratchaburi chairman comments on the injury

Ratchaburi chairman Tanawat Nitikanchana said of Bolkiah‘s condition: “Today is the saddest day. My brother, Prince Faiq Jefri Bolkiah was injured while playing for us.”

The Ratchaburi boss wanted to send a message of encouragement to Bolkiah: “I know you must be in shock and in great pain right now, but know that we will be with you every step of the way until you are back in the dragon shirt and scoring goals for us again. Although you have only been with us for eight months, I am sure that everyone at the club and the fans love you. We’ll be waiting for the day when you come back stronger than ever, lad.”
