Wolverhampton Wanderers have overcome competition from a host of clubs to agree a deal with Braga to sign wide player Rodrigo Gomes.
The 20-year-old Portugal youth international is on course to join for €15million (£12.7m), with personal terms in place on a five-year contract that includes an option to extend by 12 months.
He is set to travel to the West Midlands in the early part of next week to complete a medical.
Gomes attracted significant interest from a range of suitors including Atletico Madrid, Bournemouth and teams in Germany. He is considered an exciting prospect, having represented his country from Under-16 to Under-21 level.
Having risen through the ranks at Braga, Gomes spent the 2023-24 campaign on loan at Estoril — scoring nine goals and providing eight assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.
Should everything go to plan, Gomes will move to Molineux following a 14th-place finish for Gary O’Neil’s men in the English top-flight last season.
