Vinicius Jr dropped the coldest 10-word message minutes after losing the 2024 Ballon d'Or to Rodri

Vinicius Junior finished second behind Rodri in the 2024 Ballon d’Or standings.

Vinicius Junior took to social media to deliver a powerful message after missing out on the Ballon d’Or.

On Monday night, the 2024 Ballon d’Or award was handed to Manchester City and Spain midfielder Rodri, after he enjoyed a stellar season for both club and country.

After winning the award, the midfielder said: “Good evening everybody, I have to thank many people. First of all France Football and UEFA for giving me this award.

“Thanks for being here again everyone, I want to thank those who voted for me. Today is a special day not just for me but for my family. First of all, I have to thank a very special person, my girlfriend Laura, today is our eighth anniversary. Without her, things would not be the same.”

“Also my family, of course. The values they have taught me and all they represent in me, for having taught me the right steps to take and for helping me become the man I am.”

However, prior to the award ceremony, Real Madrid felt Vinicius was the clear winner and decided to boycott the event when they found out the Brazilian had missed out.

After the ceremony had finished, Vinicius wrote on social media: “Eu farei 10x se for preciso. Eles não estão preparados,” which translates to: “I’ll do it 10x if I have to. They’re not ready.”

Vinicius’ teammates have also shared their thoughts on the outcome, Eduardo Camavinga said: “My brother you are the best player in the world and no award can say otherwise. Love you my bro.”

Meanwhile, Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, who was named coach of the year, said: ““I want to thank my Family, my President, my Club, my Players and above all Vini and Carvajal.”

Madrid stars Jude Bellingham and Dani Carvajal came third and fourth respectively.
