Donald Trump was recently seen attending a traditional college football fixture between teams from the Army and the Navy. And one conservative sports podcaster took offence to how the president-elect was covered at the game.
Clay Travis – who is open about his right-wing views in his coverage of the NFL and other top American sports – believes Trump was shortchanged by broadcaster CBS as Navy pulled off a 31-13 upset over their military rivals.
And Travis made reference to Taylor Swift’s regular presence on NFL broadcasts when attacking CBS’ coverage.
“I’m gonna take a shot at CBS Sports,” the conservative sports podcaster told Howard Kurtz of Fox News. “You played the clip of them at Army-Navy. Howard, do you know the percentage of the time they showed Donald Trump on the air during that game?
“Four seconds. They showed him on the air for four seconds. If he had been Taylor Swift, they would have had him for two minutes.”
And that wasn’t the end of Travis’ rant against the broadcaster for a perceived minimising of Trump’s screen time.
“CBS Sports only showed Donald Trump for four seconds at the Army-Navy game,” he later wrote on X. “Taylor Swift gets at least 10x this screen time every game.”
But while Trump has shown his face at a college football showdown, Swift has been a regular attendee at the NFL games of her partner, Travis Kelce, this season.

The superstar songwriter has been dating the standout tight end since 2023 and was in attendance as his Kansas City Chiefs claimed a second successive Super Bowl crown back in February.
Powered by iconic quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs have been in rampant form once again this season, racing to an NFL-best 13-1 record as they chase an unprecedented third Super Bowl title in a row.
Kelce, who is now 35 and has been in the NFL since 2013, has not always been in top form this term, but the three-time Super Bowl winner will have his sights set on ramping up in time for the post-season – just as he did last year – and saving his best for American football’s showpiece game in New Orleans on 9 February.
