Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has had a nightmare time with his family over the past few months as he has been intensely harassed by a “sex-addicted” fan and has been forced to hire his own private security.
The 26-year-old, out of action due to a knee injury, has had to take some extreme security measures such as changing his mobile phone number and increasing security at his residence with the installation of surveillance cameras and state-of-the-art alarms.
“It’s been more than a year of hell for Trent. This woman has terrorised him and his family, bombarding him with explicit messages, getting his number, calling him incessantly and sending unhinged letters and obscene material to his home,” The Sun reported. “Trent has done everything he can to make sure it doesn’t affect his performance on the pitch.”
The player, who has also been a member of the England squad, was advised not to post any of his movements on social media as he has also received numerous obscene and explicit letters and photographs. His family members have also been bombarded with such messages.
International Business Times said the England international’s privacy has been infringed to the extent that his mail is being examined.
Stalker has been following him around
Alexander-Arnold is reported to have received threats and explicit material through his email, with the stalker reportedly appearing at his training sessions with Liverpool, at his home and at selected restaurants that Trent likes to frequent.
Alexander-Arnold missed Sunday’s Carabao Cup final between Liverpool and Chelsea at Wembley because of the knee injury that has kept him off the pitch in recent weeks.
Liverpool are top of the Premier League with 60 points, closely followed by Manchester City on 59, although the Reds are currently suffering from the injury absences of Alexander-Arnold, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, Alisson, Curtis Jones and Mohamed Salah.
