Saudi Pro League director reveals 'truth' about Mo Salah transfer and if he's leaving Liverpool in 2025

Michael Enamelo has shed light on Mohamed Salah’s proposed move to Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia chief Michael Emenalo has revealed the ‘truth’ behind a Saudi Pro League club’s pursuit of Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah

Salah, 32, has been strongly linked with a move to Saudi Arabia as Liverpool were forced to turn down Al Ittihad’s advances last year.

Al Ittihad had a £150 million bid turned down by the Reds, who refused to sanction a sale.

Talks of a move to the Middle East have once again intensified, with the Egyptian international in the final year of his contract at Anfield.

Speaking on The Obi One Podcast, Emenalo was asked what the chances of Salah swapping the Premier League for the Saudi Pro League were to which he replied: “I think it depends on Mo.”

The Saudi Pro League sports director said the reports are ‘true’ regarding a Saudi side’s pursuit of Salah as he referenced Victor Osimhen’s proposed move Al Ahli, which eventually broke down.

“The stories that our teams went after him was true, it is true, there was an interest, but just like [Victor] Osimhen, it’s ok for me to have an interest in signing Mo, but the club have to have an interest in letting him go, and if those things don’t align, you don’t have a deal,” he added.

“Fundamentally, Liverpool didn’t want to sell and what price were we willing to buy at? I didn’t feel the player was ready to come because he felt like he had unfinished business.”

Salah has been at Liverpool since 2017 following his £36.5 million move from AS Roma.

He’s made a staggering 359 appearances, scoring an impressive 217 goals.

But his eight-year spell in Merseyside could come to an end as his existing deal expires next summer.
