Revealed: What Jose Mourinho said to Cristiano Ronaldo on phone call to convince him to join Fenerbahce – Man Utd

The details of the phone call between Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo have been revealed, as the legendary manager is reportedly trying to secure a huge transfer.

Mourinho was confirmed as manager of Fenerbahce in June, having been sacked by Serie A side Roma five months earlier.

The iconic manager is just one of several men at the Turkish side with a history at Manchester United, with ex-midfielders Fred and Sofyan Amrabat currently playing for Fenerbahce.

And now, Mourinho is reportedly trying to lure Ronaldo, one of United’s best ever players, to his new club, as details of his phone call to the striker have been revealed.

As it stands, the 39-year-old’s deal with Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr is set to expire expires in June and, with discussions over an extension reportedly stalling, it is possible that he could look for a move away over the summer.

With that in mind, reports in Turkey claim that Mourinho has already got in touch with Ronaldo to see if he would be open to move back to Europe to join him at Fenerbahce.

Speaking to him on the phone, the Fenerbahce boss allegedly asked: “Are you happy there? There is talk that you want to leave.

“If you leave, would you like to come to Fenerbahce?”

Alongside Mourinho’s personal efforts to secure the transfer, Fenerbahce’s Director of football Mario Branco has reportedly started talks with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner and his agent, Jorge Mendes.

Despite this, it is said to be unlikely that a move will materialise, with a transfer to another side in the Saudi Pro League believed to be more likely.

If he is to move to another Saudi side, Al Nassr’s rivals Al Hilal appears to be the most likely destination as reports earlier this month claimed that manager Jorge Jesus wants to sign him to replace Neymar Jr.

The Brazilian winger has been struggling with a series of injuries since joining the Saudi side in August last year, leading to reports that he could have his contract, which is said to be worth £130million contract, terminated.
