Paul Pogba didn’t hesitate when asked by Speed to name the best player in the world right now – Man Utd

Paul Pogba gives 'honest' opinion when asked by Speed to name the best player in the world right now

The former Man Urd player didn’t hesitate when naming who he believes is the greatest in the world.

Former Manchester United legend Paul Pogba has had his say on who the best player in the world is after appearing on a stream with IShowSpeed.

Since leaving United in 2022, Pogba has had a turbulent couple of years playing for Serie A club Juventus before being suspended from playing in September 2023 due to a failed drug test.

When the ban was handed to him in February 2024, it was set to last for four years, undoubtedly ending his career, but in October it was reduced to just 18 months, meaning the Frenchman can return to play in March.

And ahead of his comeback, Pogba appeared on a livestream with popular creator IShowSpeed and while on the stream he revealed who he thinks is the best player in the world right now.

When asked by Speed who he thought was the best footballer playing right now, Pogba responded: “Honestly talking? I would give it to Vini. Vini’s good and he’s cold bro. Haaland also deserves it man and Harry Kane is scoring goals and goals.”

The young streamer then followed up by asking the midfielder for his opinion on Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal following his breakout year playing in La Liga and with Spain at Euro 2024.

“Yeah, he’s cold. Right now he’s been killing it, at the Euros he had games and he was killing it. He’s so young and he won it. He’s the best young player in the world,” claimed Pogba.

“Give him a few more months and can you imagine if he won the Champions League this year? He’s 17, he still has homework!”

Pogba’s praise of Vinicius comes just days after the Real Madrid winger missed out on winning the 2024 Ballon d’Or award despite many thinking he deserved it for his impressive season in La Liga and the Champions League.

Instead, Manchester City midfielder Rodri claimed the award, having won the Premier League with his club and Euro 2024 with his country.

And the Brazilian continued to show his talents on Tuesday night, as he equalised for Real Madrid in the Champions League after they went 1-0 down to AC Milan early in the match.
