Paddy Pimblett has dropped a major UFC fight update and fans think they know who he will be facing next.

Pimblett only fought once in 2024, but he secured the biggest win of his budding MMA career, submitting Bobby Green in the first round of their lightweight clash at UFC 304 last summer.

He’s unbeaten in the UFC since joining the promotion, having registered six consecutive wins inside the famed Octagon.

2025 could be the year Pimblett announces himself as a big player in the lightweight division as he aims for UFC gold.

And ahead of returning to action, Pimblett teased his next UFC assignment, revealing him and his opponent have agreed to face each other, with an announcement imminent.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, he began: “Nice end to the year, to be honest.

“I’m in good shape. People have been speculating about who I’m fighting.

“I’m coming for that belt so I’m looking for higher ranked fighters.”

The 29-year-old added: “I’m sure yous will see a fight announcement soon enough… I’ve said yeah… the opponent has said yeah,” before concluding: “See you at the top.”

UFC fans online are convinced Pimblett is set to face Michael Chandler, having signed off with his catchphrase of ‘see you at the top’.

One X user exclaimed: “CHANDLER?”

A second wrote: “Whaaaat he’s fighting Chandler.”

A third said: “Michael Chandler x Paddy Pimblett? UFC London?”

A fourth predicted: “Paddy is going to strangle Chandler.”

Another commented: “Omg I called it !!! Absolute banger.”

Chandler returned to competition last month when he suffered a unanimous decision defeat to Charles Oliveira, having held out for Conor McGregor.

But after McGregor pulled out of their contest, ‘Iron’ Mike renewed hostilities with Oliveira following their 2021 title fight.

Even though the veteran American has lost back-to-back fights, he’s still one of the biggest names in the division and is ranked No.7.

As for Pimblett, he’s ranked No.13 and a fight against Chandler would be a huge step up in competition.

UFC are set to return to London, England, on March 22, but they have yet to announce a main-event.

Chandler vs. Pimblett would certainly fit the bill.
