A Manchester United player has reportedly complained to the club about Ruben Amorim’s new rotation policy.
Since joining United at the end of November, new manager Amorim appears to have turned United’s season around, earning points in all but one of his matches in charge so far.
In his time with the club, the Portuguese manager has established a clear system that regularly rotates players both in the starting lineup and during matches.
However, some players at the club are reportedly unhappy with the new policy, leading to one of them raising an official complaint.
According to Manchester Evening News, the majority of players in the United squad have responded well to Amorim’s decision to rotate heavily during and before games.
During the five matches that he has overseen since joining in November, the 39-year-old has started 20 different players and made 25 substitutes, the maximum number possible across the games.
However, at least one player is reportedly unhappy with how much the team is changing, and has made their frustrations known by complaining to the club.
Speaking about the recent rotation last week, Amorim explained that it was mostly forced due to managing the minutes of injured players.
“It’s not because I like to change all the time but we have to have all the squad fit,” he explained after the 2-0 loss to Arsenal.

“So, for example, Harry Maguire has a time limit, Tyrell Malacia has a time limit, Mason Mount has a time limit, Leny Yoro has a really time limit. So we have to manage winning games, different methodology, different way of playing, more metres to press and tomorrow we have to assess and the guys that are a little bit at risk to some injury will not play.
“So we have to have everybody to work, to play and to improve the squad.”
Ahead of the 3-2 loss to Nottingham Forest last weekend, Amorim admitted that he was coming close to settling on a best XI, and he will almost certainly need his very best for the upcoming Premier League clash with local rivals Manchester City on Sunday.
