Oliver Glasner has replaced Roy Hodgson as Crystal Palace manager.
The club confirmed on Monday that Hodgson, 76, had stepped down from his position with former Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Glasner the man chosen to replace him.
The 49-year-old has agreed a deal to become Palace’s manager until the end of the 2025-2026 season.
Glasner said: “I am very happy to join Crystal Palace as manager. I am looking forward to working with the talented squad, meeting the club’s supporters and experiencing the Selhurst Park atmosphere I have heard so much about.
“It has been a pleasure to meet with Steve (Parish) and Dougie (Freedman), and I am looking forward to working with them to achieve our goals.”
The Athletic reported on Thursday that Hodgson was set to leave the club with Glasner the leading candidate to replace him.
Palace took seven points from their opening four games of the campaign but have recorded only three wins since September and were knocked out of the FA Cup in the third round by Everton.
A 3-1 home defeat by Chelsea last Monday night was their fourth in five games, while during a humiliating 4-1 defeat by arch-rivals Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex stadium the previous weekend, a section of the away support called for Hodgson and chairman Steve Parish to leave the club.

Hodgson was taken ill during Palace’s training session last Thursday morning. The club cancelled Hodgson’s scheduled press conference and later confirmed he was “stable” and undergoing tests in hospital. He has since been released from hospital and is doing well.
Hodgson said: “This club is very special and means so much to me and has played a big part in my footballing life. I have fully enjoyed my time here across six seasons, as it has given me the chance to work with top class players and staff doing what I love every day.
“However, I understand, given recent circumstances, it may be prudent at this time for the club to plan ahead, and therefore I have taken the decision to step aside so that the club can bring forward their plans for a new manager, as intended for this summer.”
Glasner has been out of work since leaving Eintracht at the end of the 2022-23 season with a year remaining on his contract, having won the Europa League and reached a DFB-Pokal final.
Last season, the 49-year-old’s side finished seventh in the Bundesliga, qualifying for the Europa Conference League, while they were knocked out of the Champions League by Napoli at the last-16 stage.
Before taking the Eintracht job, Glasner was head coach at Wolfsburg where he finished seventh and fourth in his two seasons, then leaving at the end of the 2020-21 campaign to take charge of their Bundesliga rivals.
His other previous clubs include Austrian sides LASK and SV Reid — having spent his entire playing career with the latter.
