Newcastle United have agreed a deal to sign William Osula from Sheffield United.
Osula has been identified as player of interest to the North East club, and should everything go according to plan, the 20-year-old is expected to sign for Eddie Howe’s side.
The Danish-born forward, who can play as a winger or through the middle as a lone striker, made 21 appearances last season as Sheffield United were relegated to the Championship after one season in the top flight.
He made his first-team debut for the club in their 2023-24 Premier League opener against Crystal Palace.
Osula spent six months on loan at Derby County in 2022, where he scored five goals before returning to Bramall Lane.
The versatile attacker would become Newcastle’s sixth signing of the summer. Lloyd Kelly was the Tyneside club’s first recruit and has subsequently been joined by John Ruddy, Odysseas Vlachodimos, Miodrag Pivas and former Chelsea loanee Lewis Hall, who has joined on a permanent deal.
Callum Wilson, meanwhile, is set to miss the start of the 2024-25 season due to a back injury, having suffered from a bulging disc.
Howe’s side begin their Premier League campaign against newly-promoted Southampton on August 17.
