Red Bull superstar Max Verstappen has spoken about his relationship with rival Lando Norris in a brand new interview.
In 2024, Verstappen successfully defended his Formula 1 crown as he clinched his fourth title during last month’s Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Unlike the previous two seasons, the Dutchman was made to work for his crown as he was pushed all the way by McLaren’s Norris.
Verstappen went through a tough winless streak that lasted more than three months but ultimately came out on top.
During their fight for the title, Verstappen and Norris went wheel-to-wheel in multiple Grands Prix, with both men being handed penalties for pushing the boundaries slightly too far.
The pair had high-profile clashes in Austria, Austin and Mexico City.
As a result of their title fight, rumours of their off-track relationship turning sour began to swirl around the paddock.
Max Verstappen reveals true feelings on Lando Norris after tense F1 battle
Speaking on the Talking Bull podcast this week, Verstappen slammed ‘idiots’ on social media for making things worse.
He said: “People always make it really a lot worse on social media. There are a lot of idiots on that platform that always have something to say, something to complain about.
“There are a lot of positive people, but also some proper idiots. I think it’s better just to ignore all of that.”

Verstappen continued: “Lando and I, we got on very well. Of course, at times it got a bit tense on track but off the track, that shouldn’t matter. We always try to do the best we can on track to get the best possible result.
“You’re fighting for the World Championship. I think it’s normal that these kind of things can happen, but we’re good.”
Looking ahead to the 2025 season, Verstappen and Norris are set to battle it out again as the two favourites to win the title.
The 2025 F1 season will begin in March with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.
