Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner says Marc Guehi will remain at the club despite interest from Newcastle United.
Guehi, who has two years remaining on his contract, was the subject of four unsuccessful bids from the Tyneside club, with the most recent proposal worth up to £65million including add-ons.
An agreement, however, has not been reached between the clubs, with the 24-year-old set to be a Palace player when the transfer deadline passes on Friday night.
“I can confirm (Guehi will stay),” Glasner said. “But I was never in doubt. Congratulations to our owners because they didn’t give in. Thank you to Marc, he was always open with me. All the rumours didn’t influence his performances.
“He always told me that he’s not pushing to leave Crystal Palace and that is always the most important thing for me.”

Guehi has won admirers for his performances for Palace since joining from Chelsea for £18m in the summer of 2021. He has made 111 appearances for the club over the last three seasons.
He was made vice-captain at Palace at the start of 2023-24 and made 29 appearances that season despite missing almost three months with a knee injury.
His form has seen him become a regular in England squads and Guehi started all but one of his country’s matches at the European Championship as they reached the final.
Guehi’s now former centre-back partner Joachim Andersen joined Fulham last week with a fee agreed for Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix to replace him.
