One Manchester United player has been called out by new manager Ruben Amorim following first match in the Old Trafford dugout.
After joining from Sporting CP earlier this month, Amorim took charge of his first home game as United boss against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday.
Despite Alejandro Garnacho putting the hosts ahead in thee opening minute of the match, United were forced to retake the lead after visitors hit back, leading to a final score of 3-2.
And in the wake of his first matches in charge of the club, Amorim has made his feelings towards one United player known after singling them out from his teammates for one issue.
Amorim’s first match in charge at United was the Premier League clash against Ipswich Town, which ended as a 1-1 draw after Marcus Rashford’s early goal wasn’t enough to seal the victory.
Speaking after the game, Amorim criticised striker Joshua Zirkzee for his performance after coming on in the 68th minute of the game.
“I think that [decision-making] is a concern, you don’t need to coach them at this level,” Amorim told Sky Sports.
“Then you have like we are in the end of the game, we were around the box with two strikers. Josh [Zirkzee] has to understand that he has to go to the box to have the crosses.
“So we are doing some things that were not at the right moment, so that is something we have to address.
“Sometimes people talk about the 3-4-3, that is not the concern, the system is the system but the understanding of the game is what we have to improve a lot in this area.”

Zirkzee has struggled to impress since joining United from Bologna in the summer for a fee of £34 million, scoring just one goal in his 18 appearances for the club.
His poor form has led to rumours suggesting that the Dutchman would be eager to move away from United, with Gazzetta dello Sport reporting that he would be keen to reunite with former coach Thiago Motta at Juventus this January.
The report claims that Motta is open to making a move for the 23-year-old as he could be used as an alternative to Dusan Vlahovic up top.
