Manchester United fans think a certain player will thrive under Ruben Amorim’s guidance.
Amorim, 39, was officially announced as the new head coach of Man United yesterday, but he will not step into the role until November 11, meaning interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy will oversee the Red Devils’ fixtures against Chelsea, PAOK and Leicester City.
Amorim’s first game in charge of the team will be the Premier League away game against Ipswich Town on November 24.
Despite being announced as United boss, Amorim took charge of Sporting CP’s 5-1 victory against Estrela Amadora yesterday evening.
More eyes than usual were on the fixture, with fans keen to see how his side played. And Red Devils’ supporters have already drawn comparisons between a United forward and Sporting’s key man.
During the convincing win, former Coventry striker Viktor Gyökeres netted four times.
Given his stature – standing at six feet two inches – and the fact he’s from a Scandinavian country (Sweden), fans instantly compared him to current United marksman Rasmus Hojlund – who is six feet three – and from Denmark (also in Scandinavia).
So far this season, the Dane has struggled to find the back of the net consistently, scoring just twice in nine appearances in all competitions.

As for Gyokeres, almost everything he touches finds its way goalwards; the 26-year-old has registered a stunning tally of 20 goals in 16 competitive games this season.
Fans were quick to voice their take on social media.
One said: “Hojlund is basically Gyokeres with more potential it’s mad. Hojlund haters gonna look so stupid.”
A second added: “Sell Zirkzee, get Gyokeres in, and we’ll have lethal depth with Chido, too.”
A third was less positive: “We just gonna buy the real Gyokeres, and sell the fake one.”
Another even aimed a dig at former United boss Erik ten Hag, saying: “How could Ten Hag saw all these strikers and say I want Zirkzee who scored few goals in Italy and cannot control the ball – Hojlund is far better than him.”
It is still unclear who Amorim’s first-choice striker will be when he finally arrives at Old Trafford.
Joshua Zirkzee and Hojlund were signed for a combined transfer fee of £108.5m, but neither has shown enough to convince fans that they could develop into a clinical goalscorer.
