Liverpool fans have been reacting to Kostas Tsimikas’ latest comments about his soon-to-be out-of-contract teammates.

The Reds have enjoyed a fantastic start to life after Jurgen Klopp as Arne Slot has hit the ground running straight away.

After Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Arsenal, Liverpool sit second in the Premier League table, one point behind champions Manchester City.

In Europe, Slot has had a perfect start in the Champions League after winning against AC Milan, Bologna and RB Leipzig.

However, despite the great start to life at Liverpool, Slot is often being questioned about some of his star players’ futures.

The likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah are all set to walk away for free in the summer if the club fail to agree a new deal with them.

Vice-captain Alexander-Arnold has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain.

During a recent interview with Sky Sports, Greek defender Tsimikas was asked about his teammates.

The defender said: “It’s up to them what they will do. For sure, the guys who leave, we’ll miss them a lot because all of them are here for many years.

“They know what they want from the future, but their thinking is always to enjoy every moment here. I think that’s the most important thing for them, and you don’t know what the future will bring.”

Reacting on social media, one fan said: “This is depressing from a Liverpool POV.”

Another tweeted: “Feels very much like ‘I know one or two are getting off’.”

A third fan added: “Sounds possibly like all 3 will be off to me and if that’s the case watch how shite we go next season.”

Someone else wrote: “This is a bad sign for me… may be reading too much into it but why would he be saying that…”

A fifth commented: “It’ll be a huge change if those about to be out of contract actually leave. Replacing VVD and Trent is no easy task.”

Speaking after the Arsenal draw, Van Dijk said: “Listen, I’m very calm. I’ve mentioned it many times before – let’s see what happens at the end of the season.

“I’m enjoying my football. I’m feeling very good physically and mentally – I’m in a good place. Nothing more can be said.

“I just want to keep enjoying the game because it’s a beautiful game that we play and that I play as well.”
