Liverpool fans are adamant Mo Salah dropped a contract hint on Instagram amid a fresh update shared by David Ornstein.
Salah‘s deal with the Premier League leaders is set to expire at the end of the season and he worried fans last month when he admitted he is “probably more out than in” in a bombshell revelation to the press after a match-winning performance away at Southampton.
The Egyptian disclosed that he is yet to receive an official contract offer from the club, meaning he is able to speak to foreign clubs over a free transfer.
Salah has continued to about his work and do the business in a Liverpool shirt, finding the net against Manchester City and Newcastle.
And on Sunday, Ornstein of The Athletic dropped a major update – reporting that Liverpool have submitted a first contract proposal to Salah and there was growing belief that he, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold would all stay put.
It was stressed that nothing has been signed but Liverpool supporters believe Salah has hinted that news is on the way.

At home, Salah posted a video of burning incense – with white smoke present. And given white smoke typically represents an agreement or consensus being reached, Liverpool supporters have a theory that it is a cryptic reference to Salah’s deal.
One said: “Might just be the optimist in me but Salah posting white smoke on his Instagram story is surely not a coincidence to the rumours of a contract extension!”
A second wrote: “This and salah posting white smoke which means an agreement…”
A third agreed: “That Salah post is white smoke which means there is something agreed.”
Another added: “White smoke means it’s done.”
A fourth weighed in, stating: “Ancient Egyptian smoke sign translates ‘New 2 year contract lad’.”
Though he will turn 33 in June, Salah is still performing at an incredible level, with 15 goals in 21 appearances in all competitions. It has been suggested the length of his deal has been a sticking point in negotiations, though Salah still feels he can play at the top for many more years.
Liverpool were not in action at the weekend after the Merseyside derby with Everton was called off due to Storm Darragh. The Reds are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to La Liga side Girona in the Champions League.
He has scored 226 goals in 370 appearances since joining from Roma in 2017.
