Liverpool eyeing shock move for Chelsea flop as Mohamed Salah replacement

Mohamed Salah’s current deal is set to expire next summer.

Liverpool are eyeing a shock move for a Chelsea flop as their replacement for Mohamed Salah, according to stunning reports.

Salah has been the subject of intense transfer speculation as his existing Liverpool deal is set to expire at the end of the season.

He continues to be linked with a switch to Saudi Arabia, with the Premier League side rejecting a monstrous £150 million offer from Al Ittihad last September.

Salah could still pen a new deal to prolong his stay at Anfield, but should he move on, then the club have reportedly set their sights on a former Chelsea player in a repeat coup.

Of course, the Egyptian endured a tough spell at Chelsea before finding his feet at Liverpool, where he has excelled, scoring 215 goals across all competitions.

According to Italian outlet Calciomerato, Liverpool chiefs are keeping tabs on Christian Pulisic’s development at AC Milan.

Pulisic joined AC Milan from Chelsea for £18.8 million in the summer of 2023 after failing to cut it at Stamford Bridge following his £58 million transfer from Borussia Dortmund.

But the USA international has rediscovered his earlier career form by delivering for his new team.

The report claims Milan would demand at least £33.3 million for the 26-year-old.

If the Reds snapped up Pulisic, then it’d mirror their acquisition of Salah, who starred after leaving Chelsea, where he struggled.

The 32-year-old has been at Liverpool since 2017 and has inspired the club to Premier League and Champions League triumphs.

This could be his final season at the club with his current contract coming to an end.

Speaking ahead of his side’s league clash against Wolves, Arne Slot spoke about Salah’s contract situation.

“I’m very happy that these players are in my team at the moment,” said Slot, who also referenced Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

“There’s a lot of games this season and in the upcoming weeks, let’s see what happens in the future.”
