Jamie Vardy takes 'secret flight' and drops massive hint over Leicester City transfer

Jamie Vardy’s future in English football remains uncertain.

Jamie Vardy has reportedly taken a secret flight to a country in what could be a huge clue about his new club.

Back in June, Vardy, 37, signed a new one-year deal with Leicester City after the Foxes’ promotion to the Premier League.

Upon signing the deal, the Englishman said: “We look forward to another season in the Premier League and seeing what we can do. One hundred per cent, it’s the best league in the world. That’s where you want to be playing your football.”

In seven appearances so far this season, Vardy has found the back of the net on two occasions, against Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace.

However, it has been claimed that Vardy could leave Leicester at the end of the season.

As reported by The Sun, Vardy and his wife, Becky, flew to Bahrain this week as rumours of a transfer to Saudi Arabia begin to ramp up.

A source told the publication: “Jamie and went to Bahrain this week to check it out. He is in demand from Saudi clubs and while he’s still playing the field he could see what it would be like to possibly live out there.

“Bahrain is an hour or so drive from some of Saudi’s big clubs and it’s an amazing country, with a culture very similar to that in Dubai. It’s super relaxed and very glamorous.”

The source added: “While it was a holiday for them both, and involved a trip to Dubai too, it gave Jamie time to think about what he could do next after he leaves Leicester next summer.

“People who know them have joked about a deal in Saudi could easily pay off Becky’s Wagatha Christie bill.”

It has been suggested that Saudi Professional League clubs such as Al Khaleej, Al Shabab and Al Qadsiah have tried to tempt Vardy to the Middle East.

Over the last couple of years, Englishmen Steven Gerrard, Jordan Henderson and Ivan Toney have all been tempted by Saudi Arabian clubs.

Gerrard manages Al Ettifaq and signed Henderson before the midfielder left for Ajax after just six months. Meanwhile, striker Toney left Brentford for Al Ahli this summer.
