Jack Grealish reveals exactly what he told Trent Alexander-Arnold before he scored 'worldie' free-kick

Grealish will be regretting this…

Jack Grealish has revealed what he told Trent Alexander-Arnold seconds before he scored a sensational free-kick in England’s 3-1 win against Finland in the Nations League.

Lee Carsley’s side bounced back in comfortable fashion against Finland following their shock defeat to Greece at Wembley on Thursday.

England took the lead through Jack Grealish who slotted home after a brilliant assist from Angel Gomes, who made his second start for his country.

Carsley’s men put the game to bed in the second half through Alexander-Arnold who scored a sensational free-kick before Rice squeezed the ball home to grab England’s third.

However, Finland grabbed a consolation goal in the 87th minute denying Dean Henderson a clean sheet in his first ever competitive cap.

Despite four goals, it was another rather dull affair with Alexander-Arnold’s free-kick the stand-out moment of class from the match.

Speaking to ITV after the game, goalscorer Jack Grealish revealed he added extra pressure to the Liverpool full-back’s shoulders by offering a cash prize if he found the net.

“I said to him obviously as a joke, if you score this I’ll give you 500 quid, and then obviously he’s slapped it in the top bins, so I owe him,” Grealish explained.

The Manchester City winger also touched on his own performance after grabbing his second goal since missing out on a seat on the plane for Euro 2024.

“It all came from the manager letting us play with that freedom, and yeah I’ve played with Angel everyday in training I know what a great player he is. I haven’t seen it back yet but I remember it being a great assist,” he explained.

Grealish was also asked on his celebration, after he welcomed his first child last week.

“Yeah, that was for my little daughter, I’m so happy so yeah that one was for her.”
