Ipswich Town make joint bid for Hull City duo Jacob Greaves and Jaden Philogene

Ipswich Town have made a joint bid in the region of £35million plus add-ons for Hull City duo Jacob Greaves and Jaden Philogene.

Discussions between the newly-promoted Suffolk club and Hull are ongoing but far from complete.

Greaves, 23, made 43 appearances last term as the east Yorkshire outfit narrowly missed out on a play-off berth.

His performances at centre-back earned him a place in the 2023-24 Championship team of the season and Hull City’s player of the year award.

Philogene, meanwhile, is being tracked by a number of Premier League clubs after an eye-catching 2023-24 campaign under head coach Liam Rosenior, who has since left the club.

The 22-year-old winger scored 12 goals across 33 appearances in all competitions with six assists.

He began his career at Aston Villa having progressed through the club’s academy and made three appearances for the Midlands side before signing for Hull last September in a £5m deal that includes a buy-back option should Hull be promoted to the top flight.

Philogene has made four appearances for his country at under-21 level, scoring three goals in England‘s qualification campaign for the European Championship in 2025.

Ipswich are looking to add reinforcements to their squad ahead of their first season back in the Premier League since 2002.

The Portman Road side will be led by head coach Kieran McKenna after the Northern Irishman masterminded back-to-back EFL promotions.

The 38-year-old turned down interest from Manchester United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea by signing a new four-year contract to remain at the club.
