A date has been set for Tyrell Malacia’s return to Manchester United amid his injury woes, according to a report.

Malacia joined Man United from Feyenoord for an initial fee of £13 million in the summer of 2022.

He played 39 games across all competitions in his debut campaign.

However, he failed to make a single appearance last season as he was dealt with a series of injury problems.

But he was pictured training individually back on the grass in July, delighting Erik ten Hag and Man United fans alike.

And a fresh report claim he could return to action this month.

According to Dutch outlet Voetbal International, Malacia is ‘very close’ to playing again and could feature for the Red Devils before the end of October.

The left-back position at Man United has been very problematic due to Luke Shaw‘s continued absence from the first-team.

Shaw has yet to feature for the Red Devils this season, having played just 12 league games last season.

The 29-year-old hasn’t played since starting for England in the final of Euro 2024 earlier this summer.

This season, Ten Hag has deployed Diogo Dalot at left-back.

The Dutch boss will be hoping Malacia can return to the fold to solve his issues at left-back.

In September, Ten Hag said the 25-year-old is making ‘big steps’ as he looks forward to his fellow countryman’s return to the squad.

“Of course, we want to motivate him to return, but it’s not so easy when you are so long away,” he said, back in September.

“Over a season now from an injury to return, but he’s working very hard, he’s progressing really well in this moment.

“He’s making big steps, so we think, at short notice, we can expect him in the team training, and he is a talent, it’s natural.

“I expect also, soon, he can return into games then.”
