Cristiano Ronaldo accused of sending furious voice note to ex Real Madrid star over ‘disrespectful’ comment

Cristiano Ronaldo has been accused of sending an angry voice note to a former Real Madrid star after he “disrespected” him.

Ronaldo is known to be extremely about precious about receiving criticism, with there being a number of stories about how he has reacted in the past.

And in a fresh tale, ex Italy international Antonio Cassano has claimed he felt Ronaldo’s wrath over text message.

Cassano, who played for the likes of Roma, AC Milan and Inter Milan, has regularly laid into Ronaldo.

In a recent rant, the 42-year-old claimed Ronaldo “doesn’t know how to play football” and that his “only objective has always been to score”.

Controversially, he also then proceeded to name five players in the history of football who he feels are better than Ronaldo – including Lionel Messi and Ronaldo Nazario.

Ronaldo’s sister Elma Aveiro took issue and hit back, but it appears as though the 39-year-old also responded.

On the BSMT podcast, Cassano claimed he received a random text from a number he did not recognise.

According to Cassano it was Ronaldo, who sent him all the trophies he has won and also added a voice message.

“After I said Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t in my top 10, I received a text from a +34 number,” Cassano explained.

“It was him, listing all the trophies he’s won. He added a voice message saying I disrespected him.”

He also went on to say that Ronaldo called out Cassano for “only scoring 150 goals and winning four titles”.

“I replied to him, ‘Dear Cristiano Ronaldo, listen to me. You know what the problem is. I don’t like you as a player.'”.

A few years back, it was claimed that Ronaldo blocked website TransferMarkt after they gave him a valuation of £67.5 million and ranked him 37th in the world.

“I think we put a list (on Instagram) with 10 players, 33 and older, and he (Ronaldo) was still in first place, but he said he must be worth much more,” the website’s UK manager Daniel Busch explained to The Athletic.

“He sent a message first to our social media guys. They answered him, explained why, and told him, ‘The people in your own age group, you are by far the number one’.

“I think it was £30-50 million difference (between Ronaldo and the next player on the list), and then he sent some smilies, and then he blocked us.”
