Chris Eubank Jr releases public statement after Frank Warren threatens to sue him over explosive allegations

Eubank Jr has posted a statement on the matter.

Chris Eubank Jr has released a public statement hours after boxing promoter Frank Warren claimed he would sue him.

Eubank Jr made a series of allegations against Warren and fellow promoter Eddie Hearn in a Wednesday press conference in Saudi Arabia ahead of his fight against Kamil Szeremeta next month.

A furious Warren, who was sat behind the 35-year-old on-stage, then took to talkSPORT to reply to the allegations.

He promised legal action against Eubank Jr, with the Queensberry Promotions founder adding that he would sue anybody who repeated them.

He said: “Regarding what he’s just said, I’m gonna keep it short and sweet – he’s gonna get sued again for the comments that he made publicly.

“He will be sued, and he will have a problem over that.

“That will be dealt with, and it will be dealt with legally. I’m very, very sure what the outcome of it will be.”

Now, both Eubank Jr and Warren have released a joint public statement following Wednesday’s events.

Eubank Jr states: “Following today’s press conference for the historic Riyadh Season event on October 12, I would like to retract my inaccurate statements and offer my apologies to Frank Warren, Eddie Hearn and Kalle Sutherland.

“I now wish to focus purely on my boxing and preparing for a huge fight in Riyadh next month.”

Warren said: “I accept Chris’s apology and retraction. I too have said things before and apologise to him also if any criticism of him has upset him in the past.

“I look forward to seeing him compete on this huge Riyadh Season card. We look ahead to some potentially massive bouts in the future.”

Eubank Jr will take on Szeremeta on October 12, in what will be his first fight in over a year.

He hasn’t stepped into the ring since defeating Liam Smith via technical knockout in September 2023.
