Carabao Cup semi-final draw in full as Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle learn opponents

The Carabao Cup semi-final draw has been made.

The Carabao Cup semi-final draw has been concluded after Tottenham’s 4-3 victory over Manchester United.

Ange Postecoglou’s side became the final side to go through to the last four on Thursday evening, joining Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle.

Arsenal beat Crystal Palace 3-2 on Wednesday thanks to a hat-trick from Gabriel Jesus, while Liverpool secured a 2-1 win at Premier League strugglers Southampton.

Newcastle beat Brentford 3-1 at St James’ Park, with midfielder Sandro Tonali scoring twice.

Tottenham’s victory over United was the most dramatic of all them – although it ought not to have been when Spurs went 3-0 up in the second half.

However, two errors from goalkeeper Fraser Forster led to goals from Joshua Zirkzee and Amad Diallo to create nerves for the hosts before Son Heung-min scored directly from a corner.

The draw has now been completed for this year’s semi-final.

Arsenal will face Newcastle, with the first leg being played at the Emirates Stadium. Tottenham will face Liverpool.

The two-legged ties will both be played on the week commencing January 6 and February 3, with exact dates to follow.

Last season’s competition was won by Liverpool, who defeated Chelsea in the final at Wembley.

Spurs last lifted the cup in 2008 – their most recent trophy of any kind – while two-time winners Arsenal won it for the second time all the way back in 1993.

Newcastle, meanwhile, have never won the Carabao Cup in any of its former guises, finishing as runners-up in 1976 and 2023.
