A German football expert has ‘tipped’ Liverpool to sign one of Mohamed Salah’s Egypt teammates.

Arne Slot’s side are currently in fine form, having won 15 of their first 17 games since the Dutchman took over from Jurgen Klopp for the 2024/25 campaign.

Despite their successful start to the campaign, one of the first challenges Slot faced as Liverpool boss was the lack of new players that arrived at the club ahead of the season, with just Federico Chiesa and Giorgi Mamardashvili coming in – who was loaned back to Valencia until the end of the season.

However, next summer, they could be in the market for a Bundesliga forward who happens to be Mo Salah’s Egypt teammate.

Omar Marmoush, 25, has been in impressive form for Eintracht Frankfurt so far this season – netting 11 times in just ten league games to go alongside seven assists.

The forward was heavily linked with a Premier League move in the summer transfer window with Nottingham Forest reported to be interested as per Nottinghamshire Live – but no such deal materialised.

But the player is expected to make a move this summer if his excellent form in the German topflight continues, and the Bundesliga expert has all but confirmed the possibility of a transfer to Liverpool.

“It’s no secret that he will probably move to Liverpool next summer,” journalist and pundit Marcel Reif explained [via Sport Witness].

“I would put a few euros on it. As the successor to his great idol Mo Salah. Things couldn’t get any better for him.”

Marmoush started his career at Egypt-based side Wadi Degla before getting his first shot at European football with Wolfsburg in 2017, he showed signs of promise as a youngster but was loaned to several clubs, including St. Pauli and Stuttgart before penning a permanent deal with Eintracht in the summer of 2023.

At 25, his best days may well still be ahead of him, and with Mo Salah still yet to sign a new deal at Anfield, his compatriot could be a perfect replacement come next season.

Marmoush has also been linked with a move to Bayern Munich, according to Sky Germany.

The player’s contract is set to run until June 2027, but when speaking with German Newspaper, Welt, Frankfurt’s sporting director, Markus Krosche, pushed back when a journalist referred to the player’s value as €40 million.

“That [amount] won’t be enough,” Krosche said.

“It’s often the case with many players who join us that we provide them with an environment where they can continue to develop—fully aware that we would let them go if they develop faster than the club itself.

“That’s an agreement we make with the players.”
