Ally McCoist has broken his silence on claims he is in talks to enter the I’m A Celebrity jungle.
The Rangers legend, 62, has twice turned down the opportunity to travel to Australia in the past.
But according to the Daily Mirror, McCoist has now entered into advanced talks with the ITV show’s bosses to appear in 2024.
Sport is traditionally represented by at least one contestant each year, with Tony Bellew and Frankie Dettori appearing last year.
Harry Redknapp, Carl Fogarty, Phil Tufnell and Jill Scott are past winners of the show.
There were reports that, alongside McCoist, former Wolves, Sunderland and Republic of Ireland boss Mick McCarthy was being lined up for the 2024 edition.
Now, on talkSPORT, TNT pundit McCoist has addressed reports linking him to the jungle.
When asked by host Alan Brazil if a fee of £1 million – Nigel Farage earned £1.5 million for his appearance last year – would be enough to convince him to do the show, McCoist replied: “You know the drill lads – I’ll do what I’m told! To be fair, I could do with losing a stone and a half.”
Co-host Gabby Agbonlahor then asked him whether he was going to do it, to which the Scot stated: “I don’t know…”
Agbonlahor exclaimed: “You don’t know? That’s not a no. You can tell us Ally, we won’t tell anyone.”

Brazil then chimed in: “A million bucks. If you were up for a million, wee Viv [wife Vivien] says you’re going. Pack your bags McCoist, you’re going.
“I’m going to speak to Coral shortly and have a bet on you… not to turn up. You’ll be American Express platinum soon. An ambassador with where you’re going.”
No contestants have yet been confirmed for this year’s I’m A Celebrity, which will be again hosted by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.
The current King of the Jungle is Sam Thompson, a radio presenter who rose to publicity as a cast member of the reality show Made in Chelsea.
