West Ham United defender Aaron Cresswell has agreed a one-year contract extension.
The 34-year-old’s previous deal, which did not include a one-year option, was set to expire at the end of the season.
The Athletic reported in April that the club were always hopeful Cresswell would stay for another year, despite his limited game time this term. Cresswell only made 11 Premier League appearances during the campaign, with Emerson Palmieri the first-choice left-back under David Moyes.
Last summer, West Ham rejected Wolverhampton Wanderers’ £1million offer for the former England international. He has been capped on three occasions for his country.
In 2015, he was named West Ham’s players’ player of the year.
This will be Cresswell’s 11th season at the east London club since joining from Ipswich Town in 2014. The defender has made 349 appearances, scoring 11 goals. He was part of the team that won the UEFA Conference League in 2022-23.
