FC Dallas and Benfica announce youth partnership arrangement

MLS side FC Dallas and Portuguese club Benfica have announced a “talent growth partnership” between the two groups.

Benfica have a person of planet football’s most prestigious academies which has not too long ago designed players which include Bernardo Silva, Joao Felix, Ruben Dias, Renato Sanches and Joao Cancelo, among the some others.

Dallas, meanwhile, have a single of the most prolific academies in the U.S., with the 37 graduates who have signed for the 1st-group squad much more than any other MLS club.

Benfica and Dallas previously did business before this month, with Croatia worldwide Petar Musa becoming a member of the Texas group for all-around $9.5million.

Dallas formerly had a romance with German club Bayern Munich — which saw present USMNT worldwide and Crystal Palace defender Chris Richards be part of Bayern in 2019 — but that settlement finished in March previous calendar year.

Bayern subsequently agreed a partnership with Los Angeles FC in March 2023 in a joint undertaking, identified as Crimson&Gold Football, which is primarily based in Munich, to aid the growth of gamers.

“Developing talent from inside of is a person of our main philosophies at FC Dallas,” the MLS club’s president Dan Hunt said.

“Partnering with a club that shares our determination and has the legacy and expertise that Benfica possesses makes it possible for each of us to retain building outstanding prospects for athletes and soccer experts globally.”

Manuel de Brito, vice president of Benfica said: “The United States is a strategic current market for Benfica’s growth system.

“Soccer has been the speediest-growing activity among youthful folks in the U.S and Benfica has been quite actively looking for prospects for the previous two decades. We feel this partnership will support us improve our existence in the U.S.

“FC Dallas is the primary youth soccer academy in The us, as various former FC Dallas Academy players are in the nationwide groups of the United States, Mexico, and Canada. So, approaching FC Dallas was a pure action for Benfica.

“Possibilities are countless and I feel this partnership will be a results.”
