National team coach John Herdman has announced Canada‘s squad for the 2022 World Cup, with Bayern Munich full-back Alphonso Davies being the team’s main star.
The 26-man squad includes 11 MLS players in goalkeepers James Pantemis (CF Montreal) and Dayne St. Clair (Minnesota United), defenders Richie Laryea (Toronto FC), Alistair Johnston, Joel Waterman and Kamal Miller (CF Montreal), as well as midfielders Mark-Anthony Kaye, Jonathan Osorio (Toronto FC), Ismael Kone, Samuel Piette (CF Montreal) and forward Lucas Cavallini (Vancouver Whitecaps).

Canada won the CONCACAF octagonal and will play for the second time in a World Cup, their first participation being in Mexico back in 1986.
Three players dropped by Canada
LAFC goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau, Toronto centre-back Doneil Henry, who was called up for Friday’s friendly against Bahrain and was injured in warm-up, and SSV Jahn defender Scott Kennedy did not make the list.
Canada are in Group F and they will face Belgium on November 23 before taking on Croatia four days later and Morocco on December 1.
