Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of Arnaut Danjuma on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Danjuma, 25, has returned to England following his previous two-year spell at Bournemouth which ended in August 2021. As part of the deal, Spurs have an option to buy the Netherlands international.
Danjuma looked set to join managerless Everton from Villarreal before Tottenham made a successful late attempt to scupper the bid.
His switch to Merseyside was not formalised which left the door open for Tottenham to make an 11th-hour play for the former Bournemouth man.
The Athletic reported earlier this month that Danjuma had arrived in the UK ahead to hold talks with clubs about a loan move away from Villarreal.
Bournemouth had also expressed interest in resigning the Netherlands international but Everton then emerged as frontrunners before Tottenham registered their interest.
Danjuma has scored 22 goals in 51 appearances for Villarreal since his move from Bournemouth in 2021.
He previously scored 17 goals in 52 appearances during his two-year spell at the Vitality Stadium.
Tottenham are also hoping to sign Pedro Porro from Sporting Lisbon before next week’s transfer deadline.
