Atletico Madrid have completed the signing of striker Alexander Sorloth from Villarreal.
The Norway international, 28, netted 26 goals across all competitions last season for Villarreal, including 23 in La Liga — second only to Girona’s Artem Dobvyk.
He has signed a four-year contract in the Spanish capital.
Atletico have been prioritising a striker signing this summer after Spain captain Alvaro Morata completed his transfer to Milan while Memphis Depay left the club at the end of his contract.

Sorloth spent 18 months at Crystal Palace after joining from Danish club Midtjylland in January 2018, scoring one goal across 20 appearances at the south London club.
He subsequently had season-long loan spells at Gent and Trabzonspor respectively, with his 33 goals for the Turkish club preceding a transfer to RB Leipzig.
Sorloth scored six goals in 38 appearances for Leipzig before spending two seasons on loan at Real Sociedad and joining Villarreal on a permanent transfer in the summer of 2023.
