Liverpool will face Sparta Prague in the Europa League last-16.

Jurgen Klopp’s team will play the Czech side having topped Group E in the competition. Sparta Prague finished second in Group C.

Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton, meanwhile, will face Daniele De Rossi’s Roma in the last-16 after the Premier League side topped Group B. The Italian club, meanwhile, finished second in Group G.

David Moyes’ West Ham United will play German club Freiburg, while Scottish Premiership side Rangers face a tie against Benfica.

Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen, who remain unbeaten in the Bundesliga, will have to travel to Azerbaijan and face Qarabag in the last-16.

The first legs are scheduled to take place on March 7, with the second legs a week later on March 14.

How did the draw work?

The draw comprised 16 teams divided into two pots: the seeded pot included the eight Europa League group stage winners, while the unseeded pot consisted of the eight teams progressing from the knockout round play-offs.

Each draw saw one team selected from each pot, with the seeded teams scheduled to play the return legs at home. Notably, clubs from the same association were not eligible to be paired against each other.
