The Europa League quarter-final draw has now been made, following that of the Champions League earlier in the day. Each one is more evenly matched given the high level, at least by name, of at least seven of the eight teams in the competition.
The draw not only did not favor Sevilla, but even if they were to come out on top and go through against Manchester United, they would have to face the winner of the match between Juventus and Sporting CP.
The quarter-final draw is as follows, to be played between April 13 and April 20:
- Manchester United vs Sevilla
- Bayer Leverkusen vs Royale Union Saint-Gilloise
Saint-Gilloise are naturally the big underdogs remaining in the tournament, and it is amazing that they have even made it this far. The other seven clubs will have seirous ambitions of winnning the competition, and Sevilla have been regular winners of the second-tier European club competition in recent years.
